Audiological Services

The Division of Audiology & Hearing Research of Georgetown University Hospital provides a variety of clinical services and research efforts related to hearing impairment and associated communication disorders. Comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative audiological services are provided to outpatients and inpatients.

Diagnostic activities include:

  • universal newborn hearing screening
  • behavioral measurement of hearing sensitivity
  • electrophysiologic measurement of hearing sensitivity (ABR and ASSR)
  • evaluation of central auditory processing ability
  • determination of middle ear function with acoustic immittance
  • measurement of cochlear hair cell function with otoacoustic emissions
  • electrophysiologic measurement of the auditory nervous system
  • evaluation of cochlear implant candidacy

Rehabilitative activities include:

  • hearing aid evaluations
  • fitting and dispensing of analog & digital hearing aids
  • evaluation, fitting and dispensing of other assistive hearing devices
  • auditory rehabilitation
  • mapping and rehabilitation following cochlear implantation

Clinic Hours 
8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
