Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

At Georgetown, we have a nationally acclaimed, family-centered, 44-bed state of the art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with dedicated Neonatologists, Neonatal Fellows, Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, Neonatal Nurses, Pediatric Residents, Respiratory Therapists, Social Workers, Pediatric Pharmacists, Pediatric Nutritionists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists and Speech Language Pathologists who provide constant care for highly complex infants.

High Frequency Ventilation
Jet ventilators and oscillators are available to treat term or premature infants with severe respiratory failure
with or without air-leak.

Inhaled Nitric Oxide Therapy
iNO therapy for the treatment of infants with hypoxic respiratory failure. We provide iNO therapy during conventional
or high frequency ventilation.

Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO)
Provides long-term extracorporeal life support for critically ill infants unresponsive to conventional treatment.
