Radiation Medicine

The Department of Radiation Medicine at Georgetown University Hospital is dedicated to promoting health and wellness through expert and compassionate clinical care. We offer cutting-edge cancer treatments not yet available at community hospitals. We have developed cancer treatment procedures using the latest cancer treatment technology such as CyberKnife Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS). Located on the lower level of the Bles building, we provide radiation therapy to both inpatients and outpatients and are an integral part of the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, the only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center in the Washington, DC area.

Our department's physicians are among the top experts in their field in the nation:

Anatoly Dritschilo, M.D. William Harter, M.D.
Brian T. Collins, M.D. Jefferson E.C. Moulds, M.D.
Gregory J. Gagnon, M.D. Sean P. Collins, M.D.
Chika N. Madu Joann Collier-Manning, M.D.

The Department of Radiation Medicine offers several cutting-edge treatment options:

Three-Dimensional Radiation Therapy (3D-CRT) High energy linear accelerator
Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) Electron beam radiation therapy
Intraoperative Radiation Therapy (IORT) Ultrasound-guided prostate implants
