Chief of Thoracic Oncology Surgery - Dr. M. Blair Marshall
In August 2004, Georgetown welcomed M. Blair Marshall,
MD, back to her alma mater in the newly created position of chief of thoracic
oncology surgery. Her
recruitment as the first full-time faculty member for this new division is part of the Hospital’s commitment to establish a first-rate thoracic surgical oncology program in the District of Columbia.
Along with Georgetown’s state-of-the-art technology, its highly qualified specialists and the resources of the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Thoracic Surgery division is poised to offer patients the full spectrum of therapeutic options, and researchers access to a large population pool.
“Georgetown combines great science and research with the most advanced medical and surgical expertise,” says Dr. Marshall. “This is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to the field and establish an outstanding program.” [Article: New Chief of Thoracic Oncology Surgery Key to Program Expansion]
