Family Medicine Residency

Welcome to the Georgetown University/Providence Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program! We are pleased to provide you with this overview of our program, and we welcome your application to train with us.

Since our program's beginning in 1978, we have been educating outstanding Family Physicians who have assumed leadership roles as practitioners, teachers and academicians. We are very proud of our program and are strongly committed to our residents and community.

Our program offers the best of both worlds – the strong academic advantages of one of the nation's leading medical schools combined with the training advantages of a well-established state-of-the-art community hospital. Our residents care for a diverse and well-established patient population at our modern Family Medicine Center, and obtain additional experience and diversity at a variety of community outreach sites.

Our curriculum offers high quality training in all areas with sufficient flexibility for exploring special areas of interest. Numerous elective experiences are offered at Georgetown , Providence and many other hospitals and offices throughout the Washington area.

As the nation's capital, Washington , D.C. is an exciting place to live and to train. We appreciate your interest in our program and invite you to submit an application to join us.

Sincerely,

Pat Evans, MD
Director
