Dr. Medha Kochhar is an ecologist with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. She prepares environmental impact statements to assess the environmental impacts associated with the construction of proposed natural gas facilities. She and her husband, Kiran Kochhar, have been married for more than 40 years. When she learned about the opportunity to donate to the kidney exchange, she knew she was the best candidate. “We had many people willing to donate. Even our two boys came forward, but I told them that they were too young,” she says. “I love my husband and I wanted to donate my kidney. I believe his loss or gain is mine and whatever we do, we should do it together as a team.”
