Sheryl Stratton is celebrating her 50th birthday in a very unique way. The working mother of three is donating one of her kidneys to whoever needs it most as part of her “Turning 50 Project.” “It’s a milestone birthday; an opportunity to reassess my life. Kidney donation always interested me,” she explained. A tax attorney for KPMG, a professional services firm, Sheryl calls the donation experience a “happy birthday present” to herself. “It’s my year of doing things I want to do, of accomplishing goals. This is an excuse to do something rather unusual. I was hoping it would happen earlier, but the whole six to seven month process has made me even more sure about my choice to be a donor.”
