Keisha L. Mack, PhD obtained her Bachelors of Science Degree from Howard University and her Doctor of Philosophy degree from The George Washington University, both in Washington, DC. Dr. Mack has extensive training, education, and research in counseling and clinical psychology. As a graduate student she assisted with research that examined children’s knowledge and understanding of alcohol and drugs and the impact on their intentions to use them. Her dissertation examined these issues further by examining racial differences in children’s intentions to use alcohol and drugs. As a graduate student she also worked as a research assistant, conducting clinical research examining reading among at-risk youth in Washington, DC. In 2001, she completed her pre-doctoral internship at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) in the Division of Adolescent Medicine. Following her graduation in 2003, Dr. Mack continued on as a postdoctoral fellow at CHLA. During her tenure at CHLA, Dr. Mack received extensive psychological testing and school-based mental health training. Dr. Mack has spent much of her clinical experience working with at-risk adolescents and their families in several settings, including residential, schools, hospitals, and private practice.
In 2006 Dr. Mack co-founded The MECCA Group, LLC, a Washington DC based clinical group. There she currently serves as the Director of Testing and Assessment. Dr. Mack is also currently Clinical Assistant Professor and Licensed Psychologist at Georgetown Univeristy Hospital, where she is the part-time psychologist on staff for the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Adolescent Medicine as well as the Eating Assessment and Treatment (EAT) Team.
Dr. Mack’s current specialty areas include adolescent and young adult mental health and psychological testing and evaluation. She has been licensed in Washington, DC since January 2006 and in Maryland since March 2007. Dr. Mack also provides supervision for unlicensed psychologists.
