The Nurses of Georgetown University Hospital’s Pediatric Unit provide excellent family-centered care for patients from infancy through late adolescence. Our nurses excel in individualized care for patients whose needs range from general pediatrics to pediatric hematology oncology. We support and encourage all experienced RNs to gain certification in chemotherapy administration
Our energetic, professional staff has created a team that pursues the best in interdisciplinary practice, with the resources of world-renowned Lombardi Cancer Center, Child Life Specialists, physical and occupational therapists and a full cadre of support from chaplains, social workers and case managers. We share professional peer resources from PICU and Pediatric Transplant Unit.
The Pediatric complex’s renovated hallways and play areas provide a “fun” environment for our little patients. Nurses work closely with parents to teach and assist them to be a part of their child’s care.
GUH Pediatric nurses have received accolades within the hospital, including the Daisy Award. Patient Satisfaction scores are consistently high. Pediatric Nurses take advantage of Georgetown’s professional development and enrichment opportunities by attending clinical and postgraduate academic education in addition to attending national and regional conferences.
