The perinatal fellowship program has been designed for nurses who have little or no Labor and Delivery or Post Partum experience. Our program begins with 4-6 weeks of classroom time mixed with related clinical reinforcement. During this time you will learn the Basic Competencies needed to develop your skills. Perinatal Fellows will be precepted/mentored by expert perinatal nurses. Your progression through the program will be competency based and you will work alongside your preceptor for the duration of the program. During this process, you will be taught to care for high risk and normal maternity patients through all phases of the perinatal cycle. You will develop technical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills and have the opportunity to work in a progressive, dynamic environment.
